Frequently Asked Questions
When is Tieve Tara open?
In a precautionary measure, that considers the current public health situation with the spread of COVID-19, Tieve Tara is currently closed. We sincerely hope that Autumn ’21 sees the world in a much safer place and that we can invite you all back with open arms.
Tieve Tara is open for all of Spring (1 September – 30 November) and Autumn (1 March – 31 May).
We are open on weekdays from 10:00am – 4:00pm, and weekends & public holidays from 10:30am – 4:30pm.
How much does it cost to visit Tieve Tara?
Entry is $10 per person and children 12 and under are free.
Please note that there are unfenced lakes in the garden so children must be supervised at all times.
Is there a maximum number of visitors allowed in the garden?
This is not usually an issue. There is plenty of space in the garden for visitors to enjoy themselves and find their own special spots. However, in 2019, over the Easter long weekend and Anzac Day – the visitor numbers were unprecedented. For this reason, in the interest of visitor enjoyment and safety, and for the garden’s protection, over the EASTER LONG WEEKEND and ANZAC DAY there will be a MAXIMUM NUMBER of 300 PAYING VISITORS given access to the garden at any one time (children 12 and under will continue to be permitted free entry to the garden without any restrictions, aside from the 1:4 minimum adult:child ratio always required at Tieve Tara due to safety and supervision requirements with unfenced lakes). We do hope you understand that this controlled entry is in everybody’s best interest. If you arrive over the Easter Weekend or Anzac Day and the garden is at capacity, we ask for your patience please. You are welcome to wait and enter as other visitors leave, or to visit other gardens and return later. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
